Your shop site says “book online.” Then it only shows a phone number.

FAQ pages that promise online booking and then dump people on a phone line leak the work you already won. A bookings page plus a draft-only WhatsApp agent fixes the leak.

Many small-business sites in southern Spain still say book on the website in the FAQ. You look for the button. It is not there. There is a phone number — sometimes two, sometimes a WhatsApp that rings the same pocket. The owner is under a car, or at a table, or with a guest. The person who was ready to book hangs up.

That is not a branding problem. It is a leak. You already did the hard part: they found you, they trusted the page enough to try, and then the site handed them a ringing tone.

What is actually broken

The copy lies. “Book online” in a FAQ is a claim. If the page cannot do it, people remember the broken promise — and so does Google, in the slow way search remembers pages that do not match their own words. You do not need a scandal. You need a sentence that is not true.

Phone-only booking has no hours, service, or plate and date. Someone calls at 14:10 while you are with a customer. They do not leave a useful message. You call back at 18:40. They are in the car. You never knew whether they wanted a Thursday window, a colour, or a table for two. You play phone tag until the intent cools.

Cheap templates leave Lorem on the homepage and an empty About. That is not “we are a small shop.” Visitors do not give you the benefit of the doubt you give yourself. An unfinished page reads as abandoned. Abandoned shops do not get the second click.

What to do instead

The fix is a site that can take the request it already advertised — not a new ads budget, and not a speech about doubling revenue. In our Web & eCommerce work that maps to Bookings / Shop: from €5,450, typically 35–45 days. Named once, here, so the shape of the work is clear — not as a countdown.

  • A real bookings page. Service, day, window. WhatsApp as a fallback if they would rather message than click. Then the FAQ can tell the truth, because the button exists.
  • Local SEO that is boring and correct. Name, address, phone, hours, services, schema. Google Business matching the site. If the hours on the door and the hours on the page disagree, you taught search to distrust you. Matching them is unglamorous. It is also the job.
  • An enquiry and bookings agent that drafts the WhatsApp or email reply. A person sends it. Nothing goes out alone. The owner still decides. What you stop doing is typing “yes, Thursday at 10” in slightly different words twelve times before lunch.
  • An About page with real names and what you actually fix. Reviews belong there — next to the story, not instead of it. “Family workshop in the Axarquía” is a start. Who answers, what you do not take on, and how a booking actually happens is a page.

If you want the site looked after after launch, Care is the monthly plan. It is optional. The leak above does not wait on it.

What this article is not

This is not a brief for ads or social management. It is not a promise to replace the phone — some people will always call, and that is fine. It is not shop-floor AI, and it is not a claim that a prettier site invents hours you do not have.

The hours you already have

If the floor is already full, a better site does not invent hours in the day. It stops wasting the ones you have on people who wanted a slot and got a ringing tone.
